How to navigate the bundles

The Bundles contain all the Commission documents that were distributed to parties, except for those that have been removed in accordance with the Notices.

The documents were issued to parties in electronic bundles, numbers 1 to 13.

You can find the document you need by using the search function. Alternatively, you can look in the ‘Index to Bundles’. There are 22 indexes which set out all the documents gathered or received from a particular party. For instance, all the documents collected by the Commission are listed under Index ‘1: Commission of Inquiry Documents’. The documents submitted by the Legal Resource Centre on behalf of the complainants is listed under ‘2. Legal Resource Centre’.

Documents submitted by the South African Police Service (SAPS) are listed under a separate folder, indexes 6, 7, and 8.

Once you have selected an index, you can find your document. It will tell you which Bundle, folder and item number the document was registered as. Once you have this information, you can find the document under the relevant Bundle.

For example, the document below can be found in Bundle 1, Folder 1(a), item no 1.
